If a pre-surgery appointment is necessary, please bring copies of most recent vaccines to your appointment.  You can call the clinic at 412-321-4625 Option 2 to schedule a pre-surgery exam or to schedule surgery as long as required records for surgery have been provided.

Here are some reasons why pets need a pre-surgical exam if pet has not been seen by a veterinarian within the past 90 days:

  • Our Veterinary Team will get to meet with and examine your pet prior to scheduling surgery
  • We offer Pre-Anesthetic Blood Screens. This can alert our vets on your animal's current health status and allow them to tailor the anesthesia to their individual needs and take extra precautions when necessary
  • Additional services such as deworming, Heartworm testing, and FELV/FIV testing can be offered

Note: If your animal is 6 years of age or older, a pre-anesthetic blood screen MUST be scheduled prior to scheduling surgery. This can be completed at the pre-surgery exam.

Please understand that your pet's health is in our best interest. If your pet is not healthy or appears to be an anesthetic risk at their spay/neuter appointment, surgery will not be performed and you will be called to pick up your pet.
