The Western PA Humane Society has been helping people and their pets in Western Pennsylvania since 1874. As an open door shelter, we open our doors to over 10,000 animals each year. In addition to animal sheltering, we offer low-cost clinic services, spay-neuter services, obedience training classes, humane education programs, and animal behavior consultations. We also conduct humane investigations casework. Our three full-time Humane Police Officers investigate allegations and complaints of abuse and cruelty. Outreach education programs are offered for groups of all ages, teaching compassion towards animals, the value of proper training and care of your pet, and the great importance of spaying or neutering to help reduce pet over-population and save lives.
